Water damage restoration in Portland, any hour

Burst pipe, failed water heater, overflowing washer, sewage backup or a roof leak in a Portland storm. We get the water out, dry the structure, prove it's dry with a written moisture reading every day, and repair what had to come out.

Water damage

What happens when you call

Step 1

Stop the source

Nothing dries while water is still coming in. We find the supply line, drain, roof or shower pan that's feeding it.

Step 2

Extract and contain

Standing water out. Plastic up at the doorways so the mess stays in the affected rooms.

Step 3

Open what's wet

Wet carpet pad, insulation and drywall come out, cut back to clean, dry material. Everything is photographed first.

Step 4

Dry and prove it

Dehumidifiers and air movers sized to the space. Readings from marked spots in the framing, logged every day until they hold at 16 percent or lower.

Clean, gray and black water

Clean water
A supply line or water heater. Caught early, most of it dries in place.
Gray water
An appliance overflow, or clean water that has sat. Carpet pad and most porous material goes.
Black water
Sewage or ground water. Porous material is removed, and the crew works in respirators.

Until we get there: do

  • Shut off the water at the main if you can find it.
  • Turn off the breakers to wet rooms, but only if the panel is dry and you're standing on a dry floor.
  • Move rugs, electronics, photos and papers to a dry room.
  • Take photos and video before anything gets moved.

Don't

  • Use a household vacuum on water.
  • Stand under a sagging ceiling, or switch on its light or fan.
  • Walk into water if outlets or cords are under it.
  • Touch sewage. Keep kids and pets out.

Questions

Water damage restoration: common questions

How fast does water damage need attention?

Wet framing and drywall can start growing mold in 24 to 48 hours. Call as soon as you find it, any hour.

How long does drying take?

Most rooms dry in three to five days. Equipment comes out when the framing reads 16 percent or lower two days in a row, not on a set schedule.

Is water damage covered by insurance?

Sudden damage like a burst pipe is often covered. Slow leaks over months and outside flooding often aren't. Call your insurance company to open a claim; our photos and daily readings can go straight to your adjuster.

Do you repair the damage after drying?

Yes. We hold the Oregon general contractor endorsement, so the same company puts the drywall, floors and trim back, on its own written estimate.
